  • November 24, 2023 The scent sprayer

Every year around Halloween I run a horror RPG session using the Dread roleplaying game. For the past few years a running theme in my game has been the presence of the smell of sugar cookies when the players are in the presence of comsmic horror. The idea was to contrast something horrible with something sweet and innocent. I wanted to find a way for the players, not just the characters, to develop a dear response to this sweet smell, so during the game I wanted a way to distribute the smell of sugar cookies throughout our play area.

  • November 9, 2022 3D Printed, Magnetic Dungeon Tiles

After many false starts and hours upon hours of 3D printing, I have finally finished my first set of 3D printed dungeon tiles. 3D printed dungeon tiles I used Amolen’s marble-like PLA filament, and each tile has magnets underneath so the tiles stick together as you layout your floorplan. I also put together a carrying case out of an old board game bag. 3D printed dungeon tiles

  • June 8, 2022 Unmasking Nyarlathotep Clue Search App

My friend and extraordinary GM, Jason Beaumont is running Call of Cthulhu’s Masks of Nyarlathotep for me and our friends! This is a huge, world-spanning campaign and Jason sprung for the immersive physical handouts. In order to help the party keep track of all the clues, I built a web app on top of Azure Cognitive Search that processes photographs of all the clues and makes all the text searchable. The app is called Unmasking Nyarlathotep.

  • October 29, 2021 High Pressure Air Powered Nerf Sniper Rifle

For one of my COVID quaruntine projects, I decided to make Lil Billy. Lil Billy my air powered nerf gun Billy started life as a Nerf Longshot. The inside of a Nerf gun I replaced all of its internals to use the air pressure from a paintball tank. Then I added a 3 foot long brass barrel and painted it. The insides of my modified Nerf gun Unfortunately, it kept blowing my darts apart, so I ended up 3D printing a special back to hold it in place.

Leather guidebooks for each role. 3D printed pieces to represent the current location of the legion on the map.
